ACCESS PHARMACEUTICALS, INC. (OTCBB: ACCP), a biopharmaceutical company specializing in products for cancer and supportive care, today announced its e-marketing partner, iMedicor (OTCBB: VMCI) commenced the initial phase of a multi-channel marketing program for MuGard.  iMedicor’s two-pronged marketing approach involves leveraging its direct sales channel through Direct Medical Solutions (DMS) and its online pharma marketing portal to further support Access’ ongoing commercial launch efforts for its lead product.  The initial phase of the marketing program for MuGard includes a targeted sampling program to DMS’ physician network.

MuGard, a FDA-approved, ready-to-use mucoadhesive oral wound rinse for the management of oral mucositis and stomatitis, is now being introduced to Centers of Excellence, Key Opinion Leaders, cancer research centers and selected physicians in the United States. Access Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OTCBB: ACCP), announced today that it has entered into a pre-licensing feasibility agreement with a leading biotechnology company to develop an oral formulation of its currently-marketed, proprietary injectable drugs.  Access will utilize its proprietary Cobalamin Oral Drug Delivery Technology to develop oral formulations of the drug for pre-clinical testing. Although the terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, Access indicated that any successful formulation developed will be subject to a subsequent full-licensing agreement.

Access recently reported that its novel Cobalamin-coated insulin containing nanoparticle formulations delivered orally provided a pharmacological response (lowering of blood glucose levels in animal models) equivalent to greater than 80% of that achieved by insulin delivered subcutaneously. The Company believes the substantial oral bioavailability found underscores the formulation’s potential for clinical development and ultimate commercialization.

MuGard Clinical Experience Reflects Delayed Onset, Significant Reduction in Pain, and Ease-of-Use in the Management of Oral Mucositis and Stomatitis

DALLAS, TX and New York, NY June 24, 2010

ACCESS PHARMACEUTICALS, INC. (OTCBB: ACCP), a biopharmaceutical company specializing in products for cancer and supportive care, is presenting a scientific poster today at the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) Conference in Vancouver, B.C. The poster presentation, co-authored by Dr. David Nowotnik of Access Pharmaceuticals and Dr. Caroline Dumas of SpePharm Holdings, summarizes MuGard clinical experience from cancer patients globally undergoing radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy. To date, clinical experience shows that MuGard provides significant clinical benefit and is effective in the management of oral mucositis/stomatitis as well as other conditions of the oral cavity involving erythema.  Key points from the poster include:

• MuGard is indicated in Europe for the prevention and management of oral mucositis, and has been used by over 2,000 cancer patients globally. A total of 185 documented patients from various studies utilized MuGard in both prophylactic and curative settings,

• European clinical experience was collected in six centers in three countries, and included cancer patients treated with radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy; one-third of the patients presented with head and neck cancer, and most received MuGard for existing lesions,

•Clinical experience showed a greater than 50% reduction in pain and oral discomfort. In an evaluation managed by Access’ China partner, RHEI Pharmaceuticals, oral discomfort or pain scores as assessed by visual analog scales were reduced significantly within days of initial MuGard treatment; the reduction in pain and oral discomfort was consistent with European clinical experience, and is correlated with a reduction in the use of pain meds

• 42% of the patients using MuGard in an US clinical program never exceeded an Oral Mucositis Assessment Scale (OMAS) score of 0.5 versus 7% in the control groups, underscoring the potential for oral mucositis prevention; overall comparison showed that patients treated with MuGard had significantly lower OMAS scores when compared to the three control groups. The largest benefit was observed when patients used MuGard on the first day they started cancer therapy and continued using MuGard during the entire duration of treatment,

• Treatment was globally well accepted in over 85% of patients and no treatment related adverse reactions were reported,

• MuGard lowered erythema (a precursor inflammatory condition to OM) scores in subjects with various oral inflammatory conditions, including patients with xerostomia, cheilitis and stomatitis,

• Patients and healthcare professionals like MuGard’s ready-to-use formulation, and Access believes it supports treatment compliance by patients.

“Access is pleased with the early clinical experience that supports the prophylactic and curative profile of MuGard and we believe it is a critical weapon in the clinician arsenal to deal with the debilitating condition of oral mucositis,” stated Jeffrey B. This MuGard clinical experience poster presentation follows the Oral Mucositis (OM) Workshop last Tuesday, which was sponsored by Access and held at the British Columbia Cancer Research Centre in Vancouver. The workshop featured leading industry experts covering various topics concerning the disease, from pathogenesis and clinical factors to prevention and management of oral mucositis.

Company Provides Update on MuGard™ Commercial Launch Activities

DALLAS, TX and New York, NY June 22, 2010

ACCESS PHARMACEUTICALS, INC. (OTCBB: ACCP), a biopharmaceutical company specializing in products for cancer and supportive care, is sponsoring an Oral Mucositis Symposium today for researchers and health care professionals attending the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) Conference in Vancouver, B.C. later this week.  In an effort to further educate and build awareness of the debilitating side effect of anticancer treatments, the Oral Mucositis (OM) Symposium will feature leading industry experts covering various topics concerning the disease, from pathogenesis and clinical factors to prevention and management of oral mucositis.  The OM Symposium is being held from 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM at the British Columbia Cancer Research Centre in Vancouver.

Hosting the OM Symposium is one component of Access Pharma’s activities surrounding its North American commercial launch of MuGard – its FDA-approved product for the management of oral mucositis.  On Thursday, June 24^th Access Pharma will present a poster co-authored with its European partner, SpePharm, on the management of oral mucositis at the MASCC Conference and provide updated clinical experience data on MuGard. Access Pharma recently announced it has completed its commercial scale production run of MuGard in North America, and commenced the MuGard Centers-of-Excellence Sampling program with leading oncology networks. Initiative Provides Full-Course MuGard Supportive Care Therapy for 500 Cancer Patients

DALLAS, TX and NEW YORK, NY June 15, 2010

ACCESS PHARMACEUTICALS, INC. (OTCBB: ACCP), a biopharmaceutical company specializing in products for cancer and supportive care, announced today it has initiated a broad-scale MuGard Centers-of-Excellence Sampling Program with leading oncology networks for its lead product, MuGard, a FDA-approved product for the management of oral mucositis, a debilitating side effect of many anticancer treatments.

Sampling efforts for the company include providing large oncology groups with MuGard kits containing six weeks’ worth of MuGard therapy for patients undergoing radiation and chemotherapy.   Through these oncology groups, Access Pharma initially will provide 500 patients throughout 20 top metropolitan areas full courses of therapy to protect them from oral mucositis.  The Company’s goal in this initiative, along with building awareness and clinical experience with MuGard, is to provide patients access to an innovative product prior to its commercial launch while oncology teams evaluate MuGard for positioning into their cancer supportive care protocol.
